I’ve always dreamed of seeing the cherry blossoms in Japan, but while I was in Korea, Japan’s borders were closed due to COVID. Luckily, I got to experience the next best thing right there in Korea. Cherry blossom trees bloom across the country, and their beauty truly leaves you in awe. One of the most popular spots is along the Han River, where a long, straight road is lined with cherry blossoms on both sides, attracting thousands of visitors.

The day I went, the lighting was absolutely perfect, and I managed to capture two of my favorite photos. This experience taught me a lot about how lighting influences the white balance in photos, giving these shots a cinematic quality with very little color grading needed. If you ever get the chance, I’d highly recommend experiencing cherry blossom season in Korea—it’s unforgettable!
